Who will be instructing me?
Darl Schiets, who has been training people on motorcycles since 1960. Also, Darl has been a motorcycle rider and enthusiast since the beginning of time. He has trained hundreds and hundreds of men and women of all ages.

How big are the class sizes?
Two people, you and Darl.

Do I need to own a motorcycle?
No, Schiets Motorsports will provide a fully automatic scooter, a 250cc motorcycle and a 600cc motorcycle for you to learn on.

Do I need any riding experience to take this course?
If you’ve ridden a bicycle that’s good, but no, you do not need previous riding experience.

Can I get training on my motorcycle?
Yes, however in some cases we may start you out on one of our smaller motorcycles first and then progress to your motorcycle.

I just bought a Harley, will you still train me?
Yes, it doesn’t matter what motorcycle you own or where you bought it, Darl will train you.

How long will it take to complete the training?
This will vary from person to person. One thing is sure: Darl will not release you from training until he is confident that you are confident.

Will I need a helmet and eye protection?
Yes, anytime you ride during training, a helmet and eye protection is required. If you don’t own one or the other, we do have both items for sale in our parts/accessories department.

I have a special situation that is unique, can special arrangements be made for me?
For almost all cases, Darl will make special arrangements.

It’s been twenty years since I’ve ridden a motorcycle, would this course be good for me?
Absolutely. Many times after long periods of not riding, people think they remember how to ride and don’t, and in some cases, never really did learn the necessary skills to ride safely.

I’m 77 years old and have never ridden a motorcycle, is it too late for me to learn to ride?
No way! Its never too late and you are never too old. If you have the physical ability and the desire to ride, almost anyone can learn to ride a motorcycle.
